Archive for the "French Bisque Dolls" Category

Beautiful photo of a lovely young girl have tea with her bisque doll.  This doll is possibly French – judging from her wig and very thick eyebrows.  I can’t say this with certainty though.

I hope you’re having a great week!  We have some sunshine here in Massachusetts!

I thought that this French theater with bisque doll cast was absolutely spectacular when I spotted it in an online antique store!  The doll characters are from the Italian “Commedia Dell’Art” – a form of theater that was most popular throughout the 16th and 18th centuries in Europe.  Some of the dolls have painted on makeup to make them appear more “in character.”

This amazing piece sold over the weekend.  If you’re interested in viewing more items from this quality antique store, visit Turn of the Century Antiques.
